H.E.L.M. Healthcare Executive Leadership & Management Program

The H.E.L.M. Program prepares today’s healthcare and health IT leaders to navigate complexity with clarity, confidence, and purpose. Through a powerful collaboration between Belmont University Executive Education and Tennessee HIMSS, participants gain the leadership frameworks, strategic thinking skills, and real-world application needed to drive meaningful change across healthcare organizations statewide. This rigorous program empowers leaders to elevate performance, strengthen culture, and lead transformation in an ever-evolving healthcare environment.

Program Focus Areas

The H.E.L.M. Program is structured around three integrated leadership pillars that connect personal effectiveness, organizational culture, and future-ready strategy. To ensure meaningful interaction, executive-level dialogue, and personalized development, each cohort is intentionally limited in size.

Leading Self & Others: Communication, trust, accountability, and cross-functional alignment.

Leading Strategy & Culture: Change leadership, strategic influence, and building cultures grounded in shared values and patient-centered outcomes.

Leading Forward: Continuous improvement, innovation, and future-focused leadership in an evolving healthcare ecosystem.

What Participants Will Experience

Each H.E.L.M. session blends evidence-based leadership content with practical application tailored to the real-world context of healthcare delivery and health IT.

  • Interactive Workshops: Hands-on exercises that translate leadership frameworks into everyday practice.

  • Executive Panels & Roundtables: Conversations with experienced healthcare leaders who share candid lessons learned.

  • Self-Assessments: Tools that help participants understand their strengths, blind spots, and leadership tendencies.

  • Real-World Case Studies: Scenarios drawn from across Tennessee’s healthcare ecosystem, connecting strategy, culture, and operations.

  • Action Planning: Concrete 30–90 day leadership commitments to drive impact beyond the classroom.

Program Goals

The H.E.L.M. Program is designed to accelerate the development of leaders who can navigate complexity and drive meaningful, measurable change in healthcare
