The Tennessee Chapter of HIMSS has announced the Summit of the Southeast, the annual event designed specifically for Chapter members, will be held in Spring 2020. For the past two years, the Summit has been held in conjunction with the Health:Further Festival in Nashville.

“With a new twist, we’re returning to our roots by taking the format to a one-day event where we will highlight the innovations occurring within an industry moving through rapid change”, said TN HIMSS Chapter President, Eric Thrailkill.  “Our Chapter has a long history of producing this annual event which has been focused on the technology, information, care models and medical innovation driving an industry through value-based transformation. In addition, our Board of Directors and Ambassadors consist of seasoned executives and leaders, contributing to the program content designed to connect, inspire and support the professional aspirations of our members.”

The planned event will consist of a single-day format, with hard hitting keynotes and a combination of interactive panels and fireside chats.  Additionally, the Chapter has planned time for networking, recognizing the importance of the opportunity to develop new relationships and catch up with existing connections.

“Our Chapter is proud of the high bar we’ve set with the educational and networking opportunities available through the Summit of the Southeast,” said Tom Mitchell, VP of Marketing for TN HIMSS. “Providing one-day of focused, but varied and meaningful content will help us deliver another powerful Summit of the Southeast.  Providing value for our members is our goal with any activity and we’re proud to carry on the tradition of the Summit of the Southeast to do just that.”

The Tennessee Chapter of HIMSS was recently awarded the Large Chapter of the Year, due to the approach to programs, the successful HIT Workforce Accelerator initiative and the “Innovator and Incumbent” panel series.
