What is the project?
The Tennessee chapter of the Health Information & Management Systems Society (HIMSS), in partnership with QSource, THA, THIMA, TMGMA and Shared Health, is working with the Tennessee eHealth Advisory Council to improve the quality of health care available across our state. We are launching a study of the technological readiness of Tennessee's hospitals and physician practices through this survey.
How will the data be used?
This project will aggregate data in a county-by-county study of Tennessee 's technological readiness. The survey will serve as a launching point for eHealth initiatives that will make it easier for physicians and hospitals to access patient information through the appropriate connectivity and software.
Once collected, this data will make it possible for the state to develop meaningful projects and initiatives to accelerate the deployment and implementation of e-health technologies in all 95 Tennessee counties.
Will you protect the data?
The information you supply will not be utilized for marketing or solicitation of any service or product. The sole purpose of collecting this data is to provide a baseline understanding that will support the development of county-by-county strategies to improve technology and to provide information that will help secure funding to implement the strategies.
When will the study be completed?
The goal is to complete the technological assessment by February 2007 and to deploy next stage e-health initiatives on a county-by-county basis over the course of 2007.
